Three Creeks Produce is a certified organic vegetable farm in Central Ohio.

Founded by two first-generation farmers, we have been growing vegetables for Columbus restaurants and food lovers for over a decade. Our mission is to grow tasty food in ways that nurture our land, the environment, and community.

Our farm is proud to offer our certified organic produce to restaurants and groceries in the Columbus, Ohio area, as well as the Columbus Farm Club CSA.

Lots of growing interest in local food lately (yay!) and our phone is ringing off the hook! Just pinning this post if you have recently discovered our farm.

‼️We do not have a farm stand/store or offer any direct sales from the farm‼️ We are busily growing all this food! So as much as we'd love to meet you, we aren't open to the public.

Instead, families can join our CSA, or choose to shop with the wonderful local stores and services that stock our certified organic produce: threecreeksproduce.com/findus . Both are excellent ways to get great locally grown veggies and support our farm!

We appreciate everyone who chooses a small farm or business to feed their family - it makes a real difference to us!

There are as many ways to grow tomatoes as there are types of tomatoes. I will probably spend the rest of my adult life learning about them each year. I'm thrilled about the excellent @growingformarketmagazine tomato course, and a tomato production tour at @blaneyfamilyfarm tomorrow to add some tools to our toolbox for this important crop! Farming is a great occupation for someone who loves rabbit holes....

PS if you're alarmed at how bare these look, you're not alone! It took me years to finally accept that greenhouse varieties are supposed to look this way 😆

The hazy wildfire sky made for glam photos this morning! Here we are harvesting mint for Columbus locations of @brassica.sandwiches.salads and @northstarcafe . These herbs, along with kale, cilantro, parsley, eggplant, and more, will arrive at their destinations tomorrow, hand delivered by us, having travelled less than 16 miles.

Often, "locally sourced" means a few garnishes here and there. But sometimes, it can be a real commitment and symbiotic relationship between two businesses that share a goal of feeding people the best food possible. Real purchasing agreements that can allow farms to invest in the people and time and money to grow these crops many months before the first delivery. And not just the fancy stuff either; the real workhorse crops that fill plates and keep our tractors running. We are endlessly grateful to our customers who put in the work (and the dollars!) to prioritize purchasing as much locally grown, organic food as physically possible. Best of all? The payoff tastes pretty awesome.

The industry lingo for a farm like ours is usually "diversified vegetable operation." On days like today, and field views like this one, you can really see what that means.

We delivered wholesale orders to four locations this morning, harvested and prepped for our CSA program @columbusfarmclub , harvested and prepped for another subscription program, seeded new flats by hand, seeded crops in the field with a tractor, cultivated weeds, trellised and pruned heirloom tomatoes, replaced poly on two high tunnels, set up irrigation on our leased acres, and probably a few other things I forgot.

June is wild and whacky and wonderful and we wouldn't have it any other way. But if you see us looking a bit frazzled, you'll know why!

We've been taking our customary winter hibernation from social media. But don't mistake the relative quiet for less action around here. We're busy busy, pumped for 2026, and we hope to grow more food than ever.

This is our tenth season! And to mark that anniversary, we find ourselves expanding our CSA (a CSA we never thought we'd have) and even headed to our first farmers market EVER this Sunday. It just goes to show that life, and all the plans you've made for it, can surprise and delight you.

Thanks for being here - we're honored that you care and support what we're building here in our little corner of Ohio.

Ohio has so much untapped potential for year-round food production, even in the coldest months of the year. But with the longer growing timelines, and the higher risk of crop loss, the commitment and investment of winter growing can be a scary proposition for any farm.

As an 'All-Seasons' farm, we are feeling extra grateful to our loyal customers, who go the extra mile to source local food throughout the year. In the coming weeks, if you spot local food at an independent grocery, or on a restaurant menu, go ahead and give each other a high five - growers, vendors, and eaters are all equally important in a thriving, regional food system.

Nearly 5" of rain in an hour! A downpour like that is no match for even the most well-draining of soils. Things do look a little better this morning, but after a series of wet weeks (and more to come), we sure are ready for something...else?

You might think farmers would always welcome rain. But sustained rains for a vegetable farm like ours means increased plant disease/shelf life reduction, and an inability to use our equipment to control weeds, prepare soils, and plant. It also slows down nearly every task as we trudge through mud without full use of harvest vehicles.

On the bright side, we retained power and crops in storage, and had very little water enter permanent buildings!

Some bigger picture thoughts:

Farms and farmers are adaptive, but adaptation can only go so far. It's an unfortunate reality that it is currently very difficult to recoup losses from weather on diversified farms because of how federal crop insurance programs are set up and administered. And, there's not a practical way to account for and make whole from financial losses due to the secondary problems of abnormal weather, like weed seedbank accrual, unseasonable temps impacting plant growth, cancelled farmers markets, or delayed/abandoned plantings from wet field conditions.

When small farms make our budgets and set our prices, we must consider the increasing overhead costs to buffer our farms against dynamic weather, and all of the financial risks we absorb. We appreciate our customers who understand these challenges, and choose to spend their food dollars with us. This matters so much!

Especially in times of increasing irregular weather, decentralized regional food systems that include farms of all shapes and sizes are even more important. Small farms aren't just cute - they are necessary. And the more we can do as a society to create and sustain the material conditions they need in order to thrive, the better fed we will all be.
